AI DPRS Collaborates with GNPC to Advance Reservoir Characterization

A strategic collaboration with the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation to integrate advanced Machine Learning and AI into reservoir workflows.
AI DPRS has announced a strategic collaboration with the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to integrate advanced Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technologies into reservoir characterization workflows.
As part of this initiative, the team utilized core data, well log measurements, and image facies data to enhance subsurface understanding. By applying unsupervised Machine Learning techniques, specifically K-means clustering, the project successfully identified High Flow Zones, also known as Hydraulic Flow Units, within the reservoir.
This data-driven approach enables more accurate reservoir classification and improved prediction of fluid flow behavior, supporting better decision-making in field development and production optimization.
The collaboration marks a significant step toward modernizing reservoir evaluation processes in Ghana’s petroleum sector through intelligent and automated analytical methods.
